Volunteers
Women of the World is excited to welcome volunteers and donors from all walks of life interested in building communities on trust and self-reliance. Our programs rely on the support of our mentors, to befriend our new neighbors and teach them the necessary skills and give them the social networks that ensure they will succeed on their own. Our organization is dependent on the benevolence of others to continue to make an impact locally and—through the service of those most impacted by the world’s inhumanity—ultimately make the world a better place.

Have an idea
Having a basic idea of how you want to contribute makes the volunteering process smoother.

Fill out our Volunteer Sign Up Form. This provides the WoW team a basic overview of your idea or project and contact information.

Register
Consider registering for a Volunteer Orientation. We hope to begin holding in-person orientations again in Summer 2021.

Interview
If you are hoping to have a long-term volunteering opportunity, we ask that all prospective volunteers meet with a Case Manager to be paired with a client or an office need
Ways To Donate
Monetary Donations
If you wish to support Women of the World's mission to empower forcibly displaced women in Utah through a monetary donation you can do so here. If possible, consider a reoccurring donation!
Sponsorships & Donors
If you are an individual, foundation, or corporation looking to sponsor Women of the World, a specific program, or an event please reach out directly to our Founder & Executive Director, Samira Harnish, at samira@womenofworld.org. We rely on your generosity and support to continue to provide services to all forcibly displaced women-- be they refugee, immigrant, asylee, and undocumented.
Physical Donations
Women of the World does not accept used donations. Donations of new products are accepted on an "as needed" basis. Typically, we ask that donated items be in quantities of 100-200 in order to be equitable in administering the items to our Ladies!

Donations Drives
The most powerful tool we can give to a woman is her independence. With this in mind, Women of the World encourages perspective donation drives to focus on gift cards to large chains or department stores. (Places like Walmart, Target, Smiths, Ross, TJMax) Gift cards to these locations allow women to buy items that meet their specific needs, sizes, styles, and preferences.
Because items such as feminine hygiene products are not covered under SNAP (food stamp) benefits, Women of the World does accept donations of large quantities of household items. Items like paper towels, surface cleaners, laundry and dish soap, feminine hygiene products (pads), deodorant, and toilet paper are happily accepted!
