Development Coordinator
Reports to: CEO
Status: Full-Time Exempt
Salary: $67,000/year
Women of the World (WoW) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Development Coordinator to execute development and fundraising strategies under the direction of the CEO. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to support a mission-driven organization that uplifts refugee and immigrant women through self-reliance services and community advocacy.
The Development Coordinator will work in close partnership with the CEO to implement fundraising initiatives, manage donor relationships and systems, and deliver high-quality engagement events. The Development Coordinator is responsible for carrying out tasks that reflect and support the CEO’s vision for fundraising, donor cultivation, and public engagement, ensuring consistency in WoW’s development efforts and strategic communications.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Donor Engagement

Support the execution of annual fundraising sponsorships, donor appeals, and individual giving efforts.

Assist in the identification, cultivation, and stewardship of donors, including coordinating meetings, follow-ups, and thank-you processes.

Manage donor acknowledgements and maintain consistent, high-quality communication with supporters.
Grants & Institutional Giving

Research potential foundation and corporate funding opportunities.

Assist with proposal writing, submission, and reporting in collaboration with contracted grant writers.
Events & Community Engagement

Lead the planning and execution of all fundraising-related events, ensuring alignment with development goals and community outreach.

Increase community awareness of WoW’s mission and programs through strategic engagement and storytelling.

Coordinate logistics for fundraising events and community engagement opportunities.

Support the planning and execution of donor cultivation events, sponsorship management, and outreach initiatives that raise awareness of WoW’s mission.
Development Operations & Data Management

Manage donor databases (Salesforce, OneCause), ensuring accurate data entry, segmentation, and reporting.

Track fundraising progress, prepare reports, and help ensure all development activities are well-documented and aligned with organizational goals.

Provide administrative support to the CEO as needed.
This role is ideal for someone eager to learn, grow, and build leadership skills by working closely with the CEO. The right candidate will be organized, communicative, and passionate about supporting refugee and immigrant women through effective community engagement and philanthropy.

Qualifications
-
3+ years nonprofit development experience
-
Must have experience and active contacts with Utah funders

Must be outgoing, gregarious and be comfortable with current, lapsed, and potential donors

Must be available in office Monday through Thursday, with some evenings and weekends
Preferred

Experience with Salesforce CRM

Experience with Canva or other print/online media development software preferred
Contract Grant Writer
Location: Hybrid (Salt Lake City, UT preferred)
Reports To: CEO
Employment Type: Part-Time Contractor (10–20 hours per week, flexible schedule, more hours during training)
Contract amount: $25 to $30/hr based on experience
Women of the World (WoW) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Salt Lake City, Utah, dedicated to empowering forcibly displaced women from all over the world to achieve self-reliance through customized service, community building, and economic empowerment.
Women of the World is seeking a mission-driven, detail-oriented Part-Time Grant Writer to support our fundraising efforts. This individual will work closely with the Development Coordinator and executive team to research funding opportunities, draft compelling grant proposals, and manage reporting requirements. The ideal candidate is a strong writer with a passion for social impact and experience in nonprofit fundraising or grant writing, donors especially major gift prospects. This position reports to the Executive Director.
Responsibilities

Research and identify new grant opportunities aligned with WoW’s mission and programs.

Write clear, compelling, and tailored grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and funding requests.

Manage the grant application calendar and meet all deadlines.

Collaborate with program and finance staff to gather data and narratives for proposals and reports.

Track grant submissions, awards, reporting requirements, and funder communications.

Assist in developing reports and success stories to demonstrate program impact.
Qualifications

Proven experience in grant writing, preferably in the nonprofit sector.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong research and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.

Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.

Commitment to WoW’s mission of empowering forcibly displaced women.

Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field preferred.
Preferred

Knowledge of funding sources that support refugee, immigrant, women’s empowerment, or educational initiatives.

Familiarity with Salesforce or other donor management platforms.
